APtitute 2022

​​​​​​APtitute 2022 is a session-filled event designed to acclimate aspiring 9th-12th grade students to the world of Advanced Placement (AP).  Join AP teachers, district staff and fellow students from around the district in this opportunity to aspireattain, and achieve in the world of AP.  The institute will include special events for parents as well as special guests including representatives from universities and colleges.

New to this year's event includes: 

  • Access to students 9th-12th grade who are taking their first AP course(s) in the fall.
  • Extended Expo Hall hours

Institute Highlights

CONCURRENT SESSIONS

Designed to provide participants opportunities to explore various topics while leveraging strengths of expert presenters. Concurrent sessions have been designed for both students and parents.

PANEL DISCUSSIONS

Provide opportunities for panelists and audience members to discuss and answer questions around central topics.

EXPO HALL

An opportunity to meet representatives from universities and colleges as well as district AP teachers and staff from district schools.

Q-  WHAT IS THE OVERALL PURPOSE OF APTITUTE 2022?

APtitute 2022 is designed to acclimate aspiring 9th-12th grade students to the world of Advanced Placement (AP) and provide a foundation to prepare these students for success within their AP courses. Students will have the opportunity to participate in sessions of their choice, covering a  wide-range of topics all designed to help prepare them for success. 


Q- WHEN AND WHERE WILL APTITUTE 2022 BE HELD?

APtitute 2022- LCS AP Student Summer Institute will be held at East Ridge High School on July 28.  East Ridge HS is located at: 13322 EXCALIBUR RD. CLERMONT, FL 34711

Q- What are the hours of the institute?

The hours for APtitute 2022 are:                                        Thursday,  July 28th       8AM-4PM (Doors open at 7:30AM)


Q- WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED?

We strongly encourage parents to join their child at the event as specially curated sessions have been prepared just for parents.  As a result, bus transportation will not be available.


Q- WILL LUNCH BE PROVIDED?

Yes.  The Department of College & Career Readiness has coordinated with district culinary chefs to provide a light breakfast, a lunch as well as snacks.

Q-IS THERE A DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR APTITUTE 2022?
Register early.  Seating is limited and we anticipate reaching capacity.

Parents are encouraged to attend the institute and special sessions for parents have been included in the agenda. 

Q- WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE PART OF APTITUTE 2022?

APtitute 2022 has been designed with students and parents in mind.  The institute will resemble an actual professional institute with opening and closing sessions, concurrent sessions, led by district AP teachers, a panel discussion led by current AP students, as well as an expo hall with representatives from area universities and colleges.

Q- What are highlights from last year's event?

APtitute 2021 was a great success! The event:

  • Was attended by more than 300 9th grade students and parents
  • Offered 62 concurrent sessions
  • Was supported by 51 district staff and 25 AP Student Ambassadors
  • Showcased 8 Universities and Colleges
  • Supported by numerous Community and Business Partners
  • Began with a Keynote Address from representatives of the CollegeBoard
