LSSC, in partnership with LCS . . . has determined the following criteria for Dual Enrollment eligibility for students wishing to apply for Dual Enrollment for Fall 2020. This process will be in place from 5/13/20-12/31/20 and will supersede previous statutory requirements. . . .

  1. College credit: 3.0 unweighted high school GPA or Career certificate: 2.0 unweighted GPA.
  2. Demonstrated readiness for college coursework as demonstrated through local measures on the PSAT/NMSQT, FSA scores, or EOC scores described below. All sections of a common placement test must be successfully completed, through scores on a single test or combination of tests, for dual enrollment participation.
  3. Be a student in grades 6-12 in an eligible school.
  4. Continued eligibility requires the maintenance of a 3.0 unweighted high school GPA (College credit) or a 2.0 unweighted high school GPA (Career certificate), and the maintenance of a minimum 2.0 LSSC cumulative GPA.

How a student applies for Dual Enrollment:

The student will reach out to their High School Counselor to confirm they meet eligibility requirements. . . .

Other Helpful Information:

What if a student doesn’t have PSAT/FSA/EOC?

  • If the student has qualifying PERT/ACT/SAT scores prior to May 13, 2020, we are able to use those.

What about the PERT Pilot Program?

[LSSC is] suspending the PERT Pilot program for the fall semester. Since [they] are not able to accept PERT Test Scores after May 13, 2020 [they] cannot allow some students in the Pilot Program while others are not eligible. [They] will be evaluating what to do with the students who have already applied for Fall.

How can students learn about the Dual Enrollment Process?

LSSC has outlined the new Dual Enrollment process on their website at www.lssc.edu/de. Please . . . refer . . . to this page for a step by step guide.
