Bass Anglers Club

Umatilla High School Bass Anglers

One of the fastest growing youth related movements across the country are High School fishing clubs!

Bass Anglers Club

The Bass Federation, the nation’s oldest and largest organized grassroots fishing organization, is leading the way with the development of the Student Angler Federation (SAF). Our very own Bass Club is affiliated with the SAF. The mission of our club is to promote education through fishing. A byproduct of SAF efforts is the creation of competitive fishing in club tournaments and events between neighboring schools.

As a club, we compete in several SAF and Major League Fishing (MLF) tournaments per year, as well as hosting internal events for our members.

Dues:

Membership Dues per team member as $25 per year. This fee allows members to compete in all in-state and out-of-state SAF competitions. Members are also able to access an online database of educational materials on the SAF website. Our members are also able to access discounts with Tackle Warehouse and ARK Rods.

Club Advisor:

The Umatilla Bass Anglers Club Advisor is LTC Al Nevarez. LTC Nevarez joined Umatilla as the head of the JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) department in 2020 and quickly spread his love of Bass Fishing to the student body of this school. With the help of a handful of students, he founded this club and is aiming to start a local circuit with other high schools in the area.

If you have any questions or are interested in joining this club, please see LTC Nevarez at the JROTC building on Smith St or contact him at:
