Assistant Principal-Theresa Camp
It is very exciting to me to have the opportunity to reach my dream job of being an administrator at Umatilla High School. I grew up in Lake County and I am very passionate about the education of our students. I not only attended elementary, middle, and high school in Eustis but had the privilege of holding many jobs with the school system as a teenager. I worked as a care giver in the after school program, a custodian, maintenance worker, and receptionist at the learning resource center. In 1997, I graduated from Eustis High School. After graduation, I attended Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida where I received my BA in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in 2002 at Umatilla Elementary School teaching students in an ESE Resource Room. I was voted Rookie Teacher of the Year during my first year. I have taught all grade levels at the elementary school. While serving as a teacher, I decided to go back to school to receive my Master’s in Educational Leadership to be able to pursue my dream of becoming an administrator. In 2019, I become the ESE School Specialist at Umatilla Middle School. Throughout this time at the middle school, I also held the roles of Testing Coordinator, ELA Lower Quartile Coordinator, and a member of the Teacher Support Team. That opportunity allowed me to learn many different roles and be better prepared to serve as an administrator.
On a personal, I enjoy living a full life with my boyfriend, Eric and our blended family of 4 children; Zack, Chevin, Luke, and Payton. We have 3 dogs; Duster, Biscuit, and Skooter and 1 rabbit, Cracker Jack. We enjoy spending a lot of time on the water and outdoors as a family. All of our children attend Umatilla schools or have graduated from UHS. When I have time for myself I enjoy reading a great book and exercising.
I am a dedicated lifelong learner and am excited to join Umatilla High Bulldog team. I believe in leading with a servant’s heart and building relationships to inspire growth in both teachers and students. My vision is to serve the Bulldog family by establishing trust and relationships with all Stakeholders. We have to remember that we are all in this together as a family/team for all of the students. It is a shared responsibility to make sure that our students are successful in their journey to achieve their dreams. I have an open door policy; therefore, always feel free to contact me for anything. I have proudly dedicated my life to the education system in Lake County and I am excited to have the opportunity to be able to serve and grow with my Umatilla family!
