MDHS's recent College and Career Fair showcased impressive displays created by our dedicated AVID students. In their AVID class, students engage in thorough exploration and research of various colleges and the diverse career paths they may wish to pursue. AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, equips students with essential skills such as critical thinking, organization, and effective communication—skills that are vital for excelling not only in their academic pursuits but also in their future careers. This fair provided a valuable platform for students to present their findings and reflect on the opportunities available to them as they prepare for life beyond high school. We wanted to thank everyone who participated and everyone who supported this showcase.

🎉 We’re thrilled to celebrate William De Jongh from Mount Dora High School for his outstanding achievement at the SkillsUSA Florida State Leadership and Skills Conference! 🎉 William, along with teammates Julia Lowry and Shane Endres, proudly represented Mount Dora High School in the Technical Drafting category — a challenging contest that evaluates students’ preparation for employment and recognizes excellence and professionalism. This competition tests students on solving real-world, industry-developed problems using advanced technical drafting skills and computer-aided drafting tools🏆 A huge shoutout to William for placing 3rd in Technical Drafting! 🏆
