Families who want to transfer to a traditional Lake County public school outside of their assigned attendance boundary have an opportunity to apply this summer.
The second open enrollment window for Educational Choice transfers is open Monday, June 1, through Tuesday, June 30. During this time, families that live in Lake County and outside of the county may apply to attend any traditional Lake County public school that has capacity. (An earlier open enrollment window opened in February and closed at the end of March for Lake residents only.) Families whose applications are accepted will be expected to provide transportation for their students.
Capacity lists and application instructions are available on our website. Families will be notified in mid-July about the results of the lottery that will be used to determine which applications are accepted.
