Before your student heads out the door, please take a quick moment to help them review our school dress expectations.
You can use the quick Check yourself before you head out... checklist right from our policy guide:
✅ Does my shirt fully cover my chest and stomach? (No crop tops or exposed midriffs)
✅ Are my shorts, skirts, or dresses at least mid-thigh?
✅ Are my shoulders covered appropriately? (Shoulder straps must be at least 4 fingers wide; no strapless or spaghetti straps)
✅ Are my pants worn at the waist? (No sagging or visible underwear)
✅ Does my outfit avoid inappropriate images or messages?
✅ Is my hood down and my hat off at school? (Hoods and hats/caps are not allowed inside classroom buildings)

UHS is collecting alumni success stories to spotlight the incredible achievements coming out of Umatilla. These spotlights celebrate Umatilla High School alumni who have made a positive impact locally or globally, and outstanding submissions may lead to a nomination into our prestigious Legacy Hall. Please help us recognize our alumni's lasting achievements by sharing your stories! The deadline for nominations is September 4, 2026.
Criteria and Rubric: The nominee must have...
graduated from UHS no fewer than ten years ago.
displayed exemplary achievement in the nominee's area of specialization,
received recognition, honors, or awards on the local, national, or international level,
demonstrated service to the community in which they live, Lake County, and Umatilla.
A personal statement of 250 words or less by the nominator illuminating the nominee's impact and contributions that warrant the nominee's selection into the UHS Legacy Hall should accompany the nomination.

UHS is officially back, and the energy today was an absolute 10/10! Mr. Stokes was on absolute demon mode in the courtyard, dropping a certified banger playlist that had the entire campus hyped before first period even started.
The Class of 2027 pulled up and immediately understood the assignment, locking in their iconic "Last First Day" group photo. Mrs. Short, our Senior Class Sponsor, is officially running the show and ready to lead the Class of 2027 to absolute greatness!We are officially flexing our A rating—the highest score in the entire county—all year long, which means major surprises and treats are coming for all students and staff.

If you hear loud noises and see lots of police officers and deputies at LifePointe Church and Umatilla Middle School this week, don’t be alarmed! The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is conducting active assailant training for all School Resource Deputies and Officers. The sessions will be held on Thursday, August 6, at LifePointe Church, 3551 E Orange Ave. in Eustis, and on Friday, August 7, at Umatilla Middle School, 305 E Lake Street in Umatilla. The interactive training will include simulated gunfire and student actors to create real-life scenarios. Thank you to all involved for everything you do to keep our Lake County Schools campuses safe!
